The Sultan’s Elephant is puppetry on an unbelievably massive scale. A huge spectacle staged by Royal de Luxe (see previous post) that played out over four days last week in central London, telling the story of a sultan from far-off lands and his magical, time-travelling mechanical elephant. The Elephant looks absolutely incredible, was about forty feet high, weighed 42 tonnes and had to be seen to be believed.
