Brian Hogg was one of the early pioneers of puppet web series, creating a couple of seasons of the low budget puppet workplace comedy dotBoom in the basement of his house in Southwestern Ontario in the mid 2000s. He’s since gone on to stake out an interesting niche for himself, producing a number of low-fi, “geek-friendly” shows like Ask Palpatine, Mosspuppet and Jobso! The Steve Jobso Show that some might say are of uneven quality, but always really effective at putting puppetry in front of technology folks who might not otherwise pay attention to it.

Brian’s latest project is a sci-fi puppet show he’s developing called The Pilkington. It’s still in the early stages of development, but he has a great behind-the-scenes development blog for the show on Tumblr filled with effects tests, process photos and great character designs, which is always a hallmark of his projects. It will be exciting to see what Brian cooks up in the next several months!
